Cage Rage 23 Fight Card Changes

There's been a lot going on with the Cage Rage 23 card lately. I had previously reported that Ryo Chonan would replace Mark Weir on the card against Paul "Semtex" Daley, for the Cage Rage welterweight title. It now looks like Weir is back in the match and recovered from his injury.

Chonan is now rumored to have signed with the UFC. He is the last person to defeat Anderson Silva(not counting his DQ against Okami), so it looks like the UFC may work that angle. Chonan should be a fine addition to the UFC MW division. He isn't affraid to mix it up with the big names.

Now back to the Cage Rage card. Also off the card will be Zelg Galesic, who has recently signed with K-1 HERO's to fight Yoon Dong Sik on Sept 17. Zelg was originally due to face Alex Reid for the Cage Rage British middleweight title. Taking his place in the fight will be Mark Weir-student Matt Ewin. Ewin is a Cage Rage vet that will look to capitalize on this opportunity.

Finally, we won't get to see submission wizard Masakazu Imanari after all. He has been forced off of the card because of a shoulder injury. Imanari will be replaced in his match against Jean Silva by BJJ black belt Chris Brennan. Brennan is a very experienced MMA vet that has fought some of the best all over the world. He should make for a fine replacement.
