Professional Shooto Japan Invades Orange County

Professional Shooto Japan is returning to the United States. This time they will hold a series of six events throughout 2007-08 in Orange County, CA. The first event, Shooto "The Arrival" Ch.1 "This Is Shooto" will be held on August 18th at the No Limits Event Center in Irvine. The Main event of the card will feature 2005 Shooto Rookie Champion Tenkei Fujimiya against Shooto-vet Bao Quach. Fujimiya expects to walk through Quach and return to Japan to challenge for the Shooto featherweight title. Being the tough vet that Quach is, don't expect it to be that easy.

Also on the card we'll see Shooto veteran Kenichiro Togashi do battle with Gladiator Challenge Lightweight Champion Brian Cobb. Togashi is coming in off a 1st round submission victory over Darren Crisp at Warriors Cup 2, in his U.S. debut match. Cobb had a recent victory on the ShoXC debut card against John Reedy.

In another match, 2006 Shooto Rookie Champion Akiyo "Wicky" Nishiura will make the jump up from 143 lbs. to 155 lbs. to take on the very experienced Joe Camacho. Camacho is coming into the fight ride a 3-fight win streak, all by TKO. He will have his hands full with the explosive striking "Wicky", who is looking to impress the fans and move up the ranks in his U.S. debut.
